Job Summary:
Document systems processes for server’s setup and configuration, application setup and configuration, technical requirements, personnel training, and knowledge transfer. Perform system performance monitoring and tuning for Linux operating system, Linux patches, and VMware ESX host maintenance. Collaborate with the helpdesk and provide support for all Linux related issues.
Job Duties – Though Not Limited to:
· Plan, test, install and integrate new and upgraded versions of relevant operating systems on organizational computer systems, all third-party software components, and subsystems.
· Develop test plan and procedures; test and integrate software and hardware.
· Establish development, testing, staging and operating environments.
· Design interfaces to external systems.
· Research and resolve systems software problems while adhering to internal s/w management standards and procedures.
· Troubleshot problems that may involve applications and the network.
· Provide technical support to applications and utility developers on requirements for integration into the operating environment.
· Provide a full range of systems administration and IT support for team of developers and engineers applications.
· Create/register users for systems user access control.
· Analyze system failures, replace or coordinate the replacement of failed equipment.
· Via Pager Duty - Provide application and system support for future builds and releases to include after-hour, weekend, non-core hour support

· Create and follow standard processes, plan effectively to complete tasks on schedule, and clearly document results.
· Monitor and complete daily file processing, perform system backups, examine log files and escalate identified issues to appropriate group.
· Analyze system failures, replace or coordinate the replacement of failed equipment
· Build, upgrade and maintain server hardware in test, development and product environments.
· Assist in the development of project plans, system concept of operations and briefings along with coordinating project activities as appropriate with multiple customer client components.
REQUIRED SKILL SET
· Working knowledge of complex web hosting configuration components including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers.
· Experience with NIS, NFS, DNS, SNMP, TFTP, SSH; proficient with fiber channel switches and SAN storage.
· Ability to deploy, support and diagnose complex issues for a large production environment.

· Familiarity with Cisco CatOS and IOS
· Demonstrated analytical/problem solving ability with good time management organizational skills.

· Ability to work closely with others in a small team environment.
· Ability to interface with all customer levels

EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited four year college or university and five+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems administration and engineering experience in a datacenter environment.
